LOVE HOPE WAR

The culture of Hip Hop has evolved since its meager and humble beginnings.  With every passing generation, Hip Hop grows more and more.  Many may not want to admit it, but even the naysayers acknowledge the validity of the culture of Hip Hop - especially when the attempt to discredit the elements of the culture.  To discredit anything is to first know that it has a level of credibility.  President Obama even used the help of Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z in his campaign.

Now just as any other culture, there are negatives and positives in Hip Hop.  This may be up for discussion, but Hip Hop is not what you see in the rap videos today. There is so much more to the culture than the 2 Chains, Drakes, and Nicki Minaj types out there.  You also have those who rap consciously, those who make party music, and even those who have produced music with heavy religious content.  There is much depth to the music of Hip Hop.

As great of a culture Hip Hop is, it is still in need of the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ.  Today many skillful lyricists has emerged to help bring Salvation to Hip Hop, this is exactly what DA T.R.U.T.H. is doing with his music and his new Album LOVE HOPE WAR.  

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (ESV)

"For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them.  To the Jews I became a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law.  To those outside the lay I became one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law.  To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings."

This Album is "FIYA"  and the content preaches God's salvation and the production is "CRAZEEEEEEE".  

After a very difficult season where DA T.R.U.T.H. faced many challenges, fell and got back up, he has been back to do what God called him to do - TO PREACH JESUS TO THE HIP HOP CULTURE.

Legacy Is A Beautiful Thing

The Sierra family truly left their mark in the lives of many.  They opened their arms, without bias, to everyone they met.  When you spent time with the Sierras you were spending time with family, at least that is how they made you feel.  Sarai and Steve exemplified a life balanced with a desire to live for God, love for one another and an uncanny ability to just have fun.

As a freshman in High School I remember Sarai and Christina being funny and popular.  Everyone wanted to be around them.  That trend never ended.  Steve is the same way.  The first day I met him was in October of 1996 when the youth was going on a hayride with Pastor Larry and Sister Mary.  I kid you not, he made me laugh so hard that whole day that I nearly pee'd my pants a few times.  Steve and Sarai is perfect together.  Not only a fun couple but --- darn good looking couple too.

Hospitable and loving - always.  Learning from Betsy and Dennis, Sarai's arms were open to all.  The love shared among Sarai and her siblings is unmatched.  Sarai's impact on her siblings is phenomenal.  David grew to be a deep man of God and Christina is truly one of the realist people anyone can ever meet.  The true blessing was having the opportunity to witness the love they all shared for one another.

I previously stated that Sarai and Steve are a --- darn good looking couple --- which make it only natural for them to produce --- darn good looking children ---  The perfect mix of Sarai's beauty and Steve's handsomes.  The Legacy falls far deeper than the physical, it lies inside of them also.

Sarai place right now is in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ where she will live forever.  However, Sarai's LEGACY will continue to live on in all those she has left a part of her self with.  The lessons she taught, the smiles she shared, the jokes she cracked, the hugs she gave, the pictures she took, the example she was, the love she shared will continue to live on as we spread them to others.  Sarai was instrumental in my walk with God especially in my early years as a Christian.  Throughout the years she has continually encouraged me and my family, a legacy I wish to pass on the others.  Sarai multiplied herself to many and her legacy will live on if we multiply the things she gave us to others.  Sarai is truly a Superstar.
